Third Round Playoff Predictions Featuring Keith, Coin and the Real Keith Aucoin

We’re halfway through the best sports tournament, so here are the predictions of two guys who think they know hockey, a guy who really knows hockey, and a supernatural scholar of American legal tender who guessed all four series correctly in the last round. .

Keith, a Coin, is a 2002 quarterback hit in Pennsylvania. He doesn’t know anything about hockey, but somehow he’s just guessing about half the time. That’s the bit. Well, two bits to be precise.

Special guest predictor Keith Aucoin played 145 NHL games in nine seasons. He was the Joe Thornton of the AHL, collecting 613 assists in 769 great games. It’s also a very good sport to hang out with us here.

Tampa Bay ⚡ (A3) vs. New York 🧔 (M2)

Rock : I’ve been wrong about Rangers in every series so far. Shesterkin was generally excellent, but they also had strong performances from Fox and Zibanejad. I am ready to be wrong about them for the third time. The Bolts are better than the Penguins and Canes (which weren’t as bad as I thought). Tampa in 6.

Ian: Tampa Bay seems like the logical choice here due to Andrei Vasilevskiy’s absolutely blistering second-round performance, but my little brain can’t imagine a team in the salary cap era making it to three straight Cup finals. Stanley. New York in 7.

Keith, one piece: New York in 5.

Keith Aucoin, in fact: I had these two teams that lost their series in the last round, so I was far in the East. I thought the Lightning seemed to run out of gas towards the end of the season, but I was wrong. They look like the team that has dominated for the past two years. Tampa in 6.

Colorado ❄ (C1) vs Edmonton 🛢 (P2)

Rock : The greatest hockey player in the league will deliver his team to victory. The twist? It’s Cale Makar, who I think has an answer for Connor McDavid. I think we’re going to see Nazem Kadri turn McDavid’s mind into that creepy clown song that cartoons use. But it’s going to be a fun series. I hope it will go the distance. Colorado in 7.

Ian: Best skater defender vs. best skater forward in the game? Oh bad. What series. Honestly, I would love to see an upset here and see Connor McDavid finally make it to the Stanley Cup Finals. That would be so good for the game, but I imagine the Avs defense can do more than enough to close the door here. That’s why around these parts McDavid is The second best Connor Mc in the game. Colorado in 5.

Keith, one piece: Colorado in 7.

Keith Aucoin, in fact: This will be a fun series to watch with some of the NHL’s best players going head-to-head. Should be a high score series. I’ll go with the Avalanche. They have been the best team in the NHL all season. It won’t be easy to stop McDavid because he’s the best player in the world and plays at a high level, but the Avs have the depth and will find a way to win the series. colorado in 6.
